Way to complicated for a piece of toast

I tried this for 30 minutes. Bread kept going up and down, up and down. Then all lights would flash until I would unplug it. Never did get toast. Sent it back and kept my 15-year-old, and more simple, KitchenAid toaster.

I really like that it matches the quality and look of my KitchenAid stand mixer. It's heavy, toasts very evenly and is one of the best toasters made.

Not What I Expected from Kitchen Aid Product

Received this as a "been at the job for long time, so pick an item". Of course the choice was Kitchen Aid, so therefore was a little disappointed in the unit. Loved everything I read about it before choosing it. VERY HEAVY to move around and clean the outside. Toast items just okay. Not sure what I expected but I gave it a 3 star rating. But judge for yourself, many yeahs and nays for reviews.

I purchased the toaster about a month ago. I love the quality of the unit. It is very well constructed. The controls are very easy to use. I am spoiled in that the toaster automatically lowers the bread. It is also very easy to clean. Time will tell how long the unit will last.

Came across this toaster set up as a display when shopping for new appliances for our new house. I was amazed at the weight and solidness of the toaster. Loved the colour! When I got home I researched the toaster and was rather taken aback by the price - I got it as a house warming gift and love the unique features of bread automatically going down and the warm feature if the toast is not taken out after so many seconds. Although pricey I really like the toaster.

High Quality and Design, but not fast.

I initially felt something was wrong with my unit as the bread would not toast dark, even with the setting at the highest. I only eat whole grain bread that has a dark "complexion" already. I bought white bread to test it, and sure enough, it toasted black. So, if you only use whole grain breads, and you like dark toast, you might not like this unit. It takes longer to toast, and it doesn't toast dark & crisp. I could return it, but really like everything else about it.

This is the second proline toaster I have purchased. The first one was the prior generation 4 slice toaster. Solid and well made made. I was looking to down size to a 2 slice toaster so naturally I bought another kitchenaid proline. Great, well thought out toasters! Love everything about it from warming button to the red color! I know what you're thinking. Am I crazy spending this kind of money for a TOASTER? Yes you are. So was I. Now I'm just crazy in love with it. Absolutely love this toaster! Worth every penny. I use it just to watch it work! The chime is icing on the cake. The lights showing when it's going to finish toasting has permanently ended the aggravating part of using a toaster. It also matches my mixer.

Good overpriced toaster

You either lover or hate this design. I purchased this toaster because there was really no other well built, descent looking toaster available. I already own a Kitchenaid blender and I am disappointed that Kitchenaid does not keep any consistency in their color schemes over the different countertop appliances. My Kitchenaid blender is white but this color was not available for this toaster line, so I was obligated to take the pearly white. I do feel this color does make the blender look cheaper but it is the closest thing to white. This toaster is well built but overpriced at 299$. I would say that it is well worth half of that. It is however the only toaster that I found with an automatic lift mechanism, good built quality a 5 year warranty, and relatively good reviews. I own the 220v (Euro) version of the toaster and it does toast evenly and browns toast and bagels sufficiently. If yours does not brown enough, I think you need to return it. I do feel that the lifting mechanism does not lift the toast high enough out of the toaster and there is no way to manually lift the toast a bit higher out of the toaster. The toaster gives a gentle sound when the toast is done. The "keep warm" function comes in handy. The toaster came with 1 tosti/croque monsieur clam to make cheese sandwishes, for 299$ I would have expected 2 of these.

This toaster is so cool. I look forward to the mornings just so I can use it. Just put a slice of bread into the slot and the toaster senses it and lowers it into the unit. When it is done raises it slowly back up. If had some bones to pick , I wish that the end of cycle chime was louder or if it played a melody and that on the first piece of toast there are some sight unevenness to the browning from a cool start, but on the second go around it is fine.

Beautiful looking, but light on toast

I love the features of this toaster and it looks great sitting on my counter top. My only complaint is that I have to set it at the highest level (dark) to get a medium toast and I often have to use the "a little longer" button to finish the toast. I don't know if this is typical for this toaster or if mine has a defect. If it were not for this problem, I would have rated it 5 stars. All the features work perfectly, from the automatic raise and lower, to the bagel button and the frozen button.

First off....the paint job on this baby is awesome....looks lbetter than a new car. First toaster that can be a conversation point/decoration for your kitchen. For its primary task, it toasts like no other. From the auto decent of your bread into the magical toasting area to the soothing chime letting you know that your average slide of bread has been turned into the finest toasted delicacy your mouth has experienced, you will enjoy this unit. I would recomend this to any and all people.

Frankly we bought this as kitchen jewelry. It goes perfect with out other red kitchenaid items and is nice enough to leave out. We were tired of getting out old ugly toaster and putting it away every day. The toaster has some neat features but frankly doesn't toast especially better than the much less expensive model it replaced. I do like the feature that keeps the toast warm if you don't get to it in a timely manner. Makes timing the eggs a little easier. LOL
