I really like this freezer and was glad I found it at Lowe's when I went there to look around for a replacement for a chest freezer that went out. I got it located at home and the next day got it started up and it's been running really well and on the recommended setting for temperature, keeping the freezer at a constant temp right around zero degrees within a couple of degrees. It has three times the capacity of our old freezer and and is full featured, with the LED lighting, and of course it's frost free. Opening the door, I can see everything we have available right on the shelves - no more digging down to find what I want. It's going to be a whole lot easier keeping inventory and knowing what I need to get next time at the store.

I have only had the freezer for a week but so far everything seems fine. Impressed that it very quickly got to freezing temperature. I lost a freezer from lightning damage and needed a replacement. Thus far the only negative issue I see is the lack of adequate shelving/drawer. I would have placed a fourth shelf and a bottom basket/drawer if I were the manufacturer.

Ever since we got the Whirlpool Upright Freezer, it never froze to 0 degrees or lower. We did quite a bit of research via your Whirlpool website and it says that should be the temperature range. We even had an electrician come out and put in a separate outlet for the freezer, but to no avail, it still didn't freeze. We had to throw out a lot of food because it was freezing. That was just money down the drain. We are EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in this appliance. We even went to the Whirlpool repair center to get a technician to come out and look at it. After waiting for two weeks, he finally came out and took less than 60 seconds to declare that it was fine!!!!! We are never buying another Whirlpool appliance again!!! Whirlpool and Lowe's where we purchased it were not very consumer friendly at all!!

Inside space capacity is perfect for our needs. Appreciate the shelving organization and slots in the door area for additional storage. We have had the freezer for a very short time. So far, it has remained frost free. Items freeze fast and remain at a constant temperature. Love the upright style for easy accessibility and how it keeps items from being buried under a pile of debris. My favorite part is how the door seals firmly upon shutting it closed - sort of a suction effect. Our last whirlpool freezer lasted 33 years. We trust the brand and have not been disappointed to date with our new purchase

The freezer is working well and I'm satisfied. I am going to particularly like the light inside and also the larger capacity than the one that I had. This unit, however, only comes with three shelves. I bought two additional ones from an on-line retailer and that has fixed my problem completely. If you do buy additional shelves make sure that you measure because there are two different depths of shelves in there.

This will be the second identical model I have purchased over the past nine-plus years. It does the job in a frost-free setting. The shelves are made from metal wires that did NOT sit flat across the molded plastic side holders. The little rubber knobs that used to fit on the ends of the exposed wire ends are no longer part of the product. It looks cheap but NOT priced that way. I just switched out the wired shelves themselves and put the new one in the recycle bend. The repair cost of the last unit was almost what I paid for the unit when purchased new. The business model would now appear to be to "throw it away and get a new one". The other unit only failed once (nine years) and that repair quote was too much to pay (as previously noted).

My original unit (> 5 years old) died and much to my surprise when I went shopping for a replacement the *exact same model* was still in production! I had been so pleased with the performance of the first one that I bought the same one again. You would think I would be annoyed that it died but in fact it died slowly (just could not get cold enough). A couple of bags of dry ice got me through the replacement and the new one was a no-drama replacement (the only change: improved feet/levelers). Basically these machines are rock solid. I hope Whirlpool never stops making them.

We bought this mainly because it is frost free. We previously had an upright that was not frost free. It is quiet and works as expected. Only time will tell if it is reliable or not. It™™s whirlpool, so we hope that it is, our old one was pretty old. The only negative that I have is that you lose space due to the bottom ™rack™. It is difficult to stack things. Our old freezer had a wire drawer on the bottom. Due to the way the bottom is, can™™t organize very well.

Bought new from Lowe™™s June 2024. Compressor went bad May of 2026. Supposedly only has a one year warranty on all parts. I received a ton of emails asking for more money to extend warranty coverage but it should have already been offered by Whirlpool as they do not stand behind their products. Embarrassing product and company. I will never by from them again and suggest you don™™t either.

We do like the quality and design of the shelves inside of the door. An exterior light to let you know the unit is running would be a nice feature. When i registered for my product with whirlpool . I was asked if i purchased and extended factory warranty , I said yes ! then the sales pitch started and she was un-stop able I asked if she would send me the info and i would review it! .....she....Just sign up give me your credit card and i will send it and if you don't like it we will refund your money....go back to Lowes and cancel the warranty you got from them....this is better!! WOW i did not know her from adom....and i finally said all i wanted to do was register my product to activate my warranty....she said we did already. If i need a better warranty from the start ...what r my chances this will last????????

The wife is not pleased with the shelf design. Frozen food tends to slide off the shelf without a lip on the leading edge. No slide out basked for the bottom to make the lower stuff more accessible. The previous upright freezer of the same size had both advantages that are noted above.
