What an amazing cooktop!! Hard to believe this cooktop is better than out last Bosch gas cooktop but it is!! If you're looking for a super burner for those larger pots and room for more pots, this is the one for you! I cook for my family and others every day. A Little Flimsy

For the price i was hoping for top of the line. It looks good for the most part but markings for the knobs are barely visible. Hard to tell if its a feature or they forgot to fill it with ink after etching. The biggest problem is in its flexibility. The unit just flexes and gives under weight. It actually sags in the middle, making it difficult to have a level cooking surface. My surface is thick granite so i know its not the problem. I am not sure how to fix this as a sagging middle burner is a bit odd. On the good side the middle burner gets really hot and the simmer burner is great. Unfortunately everything leans in.

First gas stove I have had in over 20+ years. The grates are well made and sturdy. The surface is easy to wipe clean. The burner response is very quick. I love my gas cooktop!

We finally got our cooktop delivered and installed and the space between the 5 burners is ideal, the position of the dials works so well for avoiding catching them on our hips, and the flames are so far, extremely responsive to the level setting. Only wish it were not slightly warped so that the back corners don't sit flush to the counter! We're balancing heavy pots on the back corners to maybe de-warp it. We'll see how that goes. Might have to ask for a replacement? If they can address it, my review will be an enthusiastic 5 stars!

I've had this cooktop for almost a year now and I have to say, at best, it's frustrating. The knobs at the front are difficult to clean with tight corners and too close together to clean in between them. The grates are a horrible design with shorter tines next to longer ones which means that the pots rock on the burner unless they are perfectly placed. The burner sizes are awkward and don't fit my pots. I thought maybe it was my pots but when I used the chart in the user manual and tried to find 2 qt and 3 qt saucepans that would fit the burners, they are all too small. This means that the nice strong flames go up the sides of the pot and not under it. Finally, it is so tricky to get it to light. I have to try over and over again and hold down the clicking ignition for quite a while. That is ridiculuous in this day and age. My 5 year old bbq lights better than that. All in all, this cooktop is frustrating and awkward to use and care for. It's surprising and disappointing.

We like the range, but we're still working through a few issues with getting the burners to stay lit when starting - particularly on smaller ones. Once working, things are great. Easy to clean, good heat. Hoping we'll get this resolved.

Excellent improvement over previous Bosch cooktop

I installed this cooktop after removing a 15 year old Bosch cooktop that was having problems with ignition. I also wanted the more powerful cooking element for boiling water and the smaller element for simmering, which were not on my other Bosch. Anyway, it was easy to install and has worked perfectly except a thermocouple became faulty so the eye would not stay lit, but a repairman came promplty and replaced it and it has worked great ever since.

Very disappointed with this cooktop. We live at 8300 ft. in Colorado using natural gas. Boiling water and cooking takes longer at this altitude, but this cooktop makes it even longer. I think the gas nozzles need to be change.

The cooktop looks wonderful and fit our needs for depth, but it does not heat as well as we expected. The middle burner is not as powerful as advertised. the burners that are supposed to provide medium btus, take forever to heat anything even at their highest setting. The simmer function is the best because it does provide a very good low heat simmer. I think that element should be at the back burner, though I guess when you have to stir something at very low heat, it makes sense to have the burner at the front. We purchased this unit because it was one of the only ones that allowed us to keep our cabinet top drawer functional. All other manufacturers products are too deep and we would have had to give up the top drawer that holds all our cooking utensils. For that reason alone, I rate it as a four instead of a three star.

BOSCH 800 Series Gas Cooktop

I never write a product review, but I am hoping even person benefits from this review, I will consider the time well spent. I have all BOSCH appliances (Microwave, Oven, Dishwasher and Gas cooktop). This cooktop is used for less than 7 months and the surface scraches so...easily, it is unbelievable. It also makes "burn marks" around the burner on gas top surface. I am aftiad to use anything to remove the stains since I know anything I use will ruin the surface. Out of 5 burners, 2 take as long as 8 seconds to ignite and several tries. The customer service at BOSCH is a joke. There is always an hour hold time on the phone. A representative came and told me "it is normal to have up to 15 seconds"? Seriously?? Save your money and spend it for something better. I am pleased with the dishwasher and Oven, though. Microwave keeps condensing after every use. Which I have never seen before with even the cheapest brands.

Not what I expected

I am very frustrated with this cooktop. Have only had it a few mos. & I have constant trouble lighting the burners. I do what the instructions say but once it's lit by the ignitor & I turn the dial more, the flame goes out! I try over & over--sometimes I get lucky. My husband has better luck but occasionally also has the problem. Maybe one burner that is more troublesome than the others needs to be adjusted; I hope that's all it is. Haven't called customer service yet. Also, despite the fact that these burners are much more powerful than the 32 yr. old Creda cooktop that it replaced, it takes longer to heat up since, as others have said, the grates are too high from the flames. I should have listened but this was the only cooktop I could find that would fit on my custom area with a minimum depth that wouldn't interfere with my drawers below & necessitate major modifications. The instruction manual warns about cleaning the cooktop & all components carefully. SO many cautions, each area has special requirements--this is nuts! A cooktop should not be so fragile! I'm always afraid my cleaning people will damage it, have to explain each time if different ones show up. I love that I can use my new griddle across 2 burners, however Bosch should have had 2 burners of equal power next to each other at least on one side since they do advertise a griddle to be used this way. I try to make adjustments for the differences but should not have to if it were constructed better. I don't understand the large middle burner with 2 different flame rings, instructions not really clear how to use it. The cooktop is nice looking so there's a plus.
