So happy with my new 800 series. I was bouncing between a Meile or Bosch and I went with Bosch and couldn't be more happier. My friend down the street has a Meile, and it's interior seems exactly the same as the Bosch so I feel like it's a great value. I especially love the Favorites function so it's idiot proof for my husband.

Very roomy with a lot of options for customization to accommodate different size items. Everything has come out totally clean and dry so far. Crystal Dry feature is big improvement over previous model. Stainless steel looks great. Quiet!

The dishes are mostly clean, though I don't think it does as well with the third/top rack utensils as a previous Bosch I owned. I definitely have to pre-clean the utensils more thoroughly than with the other unit. My biggest complaint is that while sometimes it's easy to push the buttons to switch from one cycle to another, at other times it takes multiple attempts and almost a finger cramp in order to select a different cycle. Also, since crystal dry doesn't work during the speed cycle, the dishes are soaking wet after a speed cycle. I would not buy this product again. I reached out to the seller but didn't get a response.

We replaced the existing Bosch dishwasher only because we changed the look of the kitchen. Frankly, the older model was more user friendly for my needs due to being able to position 9" x 13" backing dishes in a variety of configurations. The silverware basket in the older model was also better as the one in this model wastes space. The side could have been angled so it would fit closer to the door. However, I do appreciate the upper third rack that holds utensils. Its very easy to group the utensils and then unload each grouping without having to sort through them and put them away. I wish the prongs for plates were not so close to the edges so that baking pans and casserole dishes could fit around the lower rack perimeters. The Home Connect app is fun as it knows when I need Rinse Aid or if the door is open, as well as other interactive information. Pretty remarkable.

This machine is extremely quiet, I forget that it's even running.
The helpful L.E.D. light on the bottom right corner of the door indicates that the dishwasher is cleaning and drying my dishes better then any other dishwasher I've seen or own.

I have now owned the Bosch 800 Series SHX78CM5N for a little over two months. It replaced a 15-year-old ASKO dishwasher that had served us very well and was actually still functioning when I replaced it, although it was clearly beginning to show its age. I had owned a Bosch before the ASKO and was interested in returning to the brand. After quite a bit of research, I settled on this 800 Series model. So far, I have absolutely no regrets. In fact, I have been more impressed with it than I expected.
The first thing I noticed was the cleaning performance. Dishes, glassware, and especially stainless-steel pots consistently come out exceptionally clean. There is a noticeable improvement compared with my older ASKO, which itself had been a very good dishwasher. Drying has also been quite good.
The dishwasher is also remarkably quiet. If it were not for the red InfoLight projected onto the floor, it would often be difficult to tell that it is running.
One of the biggest surprises has been the Home Connect app. The controls on the dishwasher itself provide the basic functions, but the app unlocks much more of what the machine can do. From the app I can select Half Load, Eco, CrystalDry, and PowerControl settings that let me specify stronger or lighter cleaning in different sections of the dishwasher. I can also schedule the dishwasher to start at essentially any time I choose.
Initially I thought Remote Start had to be enabled manually at the dishwasher every time. One of Bosch's helpful in-app tips taught me that Remote Start can be configured to remain enabled as long as the door has not been opened. That feature has turned out to be genuinely useful. I can load the machine, add detergent, close the door, leave the house, and later start it remotely with whatever cycle and options I want.
For example, on one recent load I left the back-right quadrant nearly empty, so through the app I set that zone to Light while leaving the other three zones at Normal.
I did have some initial Wi-Fi frustration. I first connected the dishwasher to a dedicated 2.4 GHz network, thinking that would be best, but the connection was inconsistent. Once I allowed it to connect to our regular home Wi-Fi network and roam normally among our extenders, the problem disappeared. It has been stable ever since.
I also had one unusual incident in which a rinse cycle that should have lasted about 17 minutes continued for more than 50 minutes. I called Bosch customer support and, to my pleasant surprise, reached an actual person in less than 10 minutes. He was knowledgeable, agreed that the behavior was abnormal, walked me through a reset, and documented the incident. A subsequent rinse test completed normally in exactly 12 minutes, and the problem has not recurred. The quality and speed of that support call were impressive.
The rack design is generally very flexible. I particularly like the shallow third rack at the very top. It is useful for thin or flat items that otherwise take up unnecessary space below, such as perforated trays, utensils, and even a dish sponge.
My only minor complaint so far involves the lower rack. If it is pulled out quickly, it can occasionally come slightly off its track. It does not feel quite as firmly guided as I would prefer, so I have learned to pull it out a little more deliberately.
Overall, the Bosch 800 Series SHX78CM5N has exceeded my expectations. It cleans exceptionally well, is almost absurdly quiet, offers genuinely useful smart features, and has already been backed by very responsive customer support. After two months of daily use, I am very happy with the choice.

New features include a smarter clean with Precision Wash and the ultimate dry with CrystleDry, even quieter at 42 dBA, best feature is the flexibility and additional space with a third rack!

Nice and quiet. I recommend saving your racks and silverware holder from your existing dishwasher in case they fit the new Bosch. The rack design is a bit odd. I thought our old Bosch had a better layout on the racks for plates and glass storage containers and lids. It seems like the designers overthought it and changed what was working. The third (topmost) rack is useless and is a waste of materials and expense. Nothing would fit there. We removed it. It was always wet, even with Crystal Dry. Bosch should make third rack an option. The silverware holder is very undersized. We bought a better replacement on Amazon.

This dishwasher has been such a frustration and disappointment. The lower rack has ONLY slanted pegs. Placing anything other than plates or bowels in the bottom is impossible. Pots don't fit because they will not fit down slanted pegs and if you put items on top of the pegs, they are usually to tall. The spacing of the wires on the bottom of the lower rack prevents placement of any cups or glasses. There is nothing to hold them up and they will not fit over the pegs because they are ALL slanted. If you try to place items where there are no pegs they fall over or they fall through because the wire rack has very large opening on the bottom.
The silverware rack for the bottom is so small because you are expected to put the silverware in the top rack. But to do that you have to place each piece of silverware individually which is very time consuming and then if you do not close the upper rack very slow and gently at the pace of a sloth many of the silverware will pop out of where they have been placed which means putting each piece in again.
The capacity is about 50% less than our prior machine. I have a family of 7 and used to be able to fit all dinner dishes in one load except very large pots and bowels. And items were clean and dry at the end of the cycle. I have watched the video multiple times about how to load dishes in the machine.
JUST don't buy this. The engineering was very poorly thought out. They need to think beyond the plates and bowels and look at what a normal family is trying to wash. We feel we may have no choice other than to take it out, sell used at a loss and go buy an appliance that functions.

The machine does great washing plastics and drying which has been excellent. My kids told me I have dishwasher anxiety and laugh when I want to rinse and basically hand wash before I load the dishwasher... i have tried to put dishes in as dirty as I believe the machine can wash and haven't been disappointed yet from how dirty they go in to how clean the come out. I should have bought this machine when I first moved out on my own and it would have saved me months of my life.

Very happy with this Bosch dishwasher. It cleans extremely well and is surprisingly quiet-you can barely hear it running. The racks are well designed and fit plenty of dishes, and the overall build quality feels excellent. It's a little pricey, but the performance and quality are definitely worth it. Highly recommended!

This unit does an excellent job of washing and drying. It also allows for selection of various levels and duration times of washing length. One of the outstanding features is the crystal dry process. It also does not leave an odour in the machine when washing is complete and the objects are not removed the same day.

I just purchased this dishwasher and had it installed. I haven't really been able to try it more than once. I bought it because I like to wash my china and crystal in it. So far, it's cleaning very nicely. I like the top rack for silverware and utensils, it holds them in place and makes for easy put away. The one thing I did notice was on the crystal wash, the dishes weren't completely dried.

We had the previous model (8 years old) of this dishwasher. They knocked it out of the park with this newer model. I love the Wifi connectivity. Since this model doesn't have a displays on the front of this unit, there is no way to really know when the dishwasher will be done. The app tells you how much longer the dishwasher will be until it's finished. The new CrystalDry feature works well. With the old dishwasher, we had to hand dry the plastic. CrystalDry makes the plastic almost completely dry. There are only certain pieces that still need a little bit of drying (mostly ones that have deep grooves and are not stacked sideways). The one thing to be cautious about is that you can not put any thin plastics near the CrystalDry mechanism. We had a plastic water bottle near it and it melted the top of it. The dishes come out clean every time and the new targeted washing is a nice feature. I also like the fact that you can now change how much JetDry is being used. The only thing that I didn't like about this new dishwasher is that they only give you a small silverware caddy. I guess you're supposed to put the silverware on the very top tray. They didn't work for us, so we reused the older larger silverware caddy. Overall, we've been super happy with this dishwasher and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new dishwasher.

We were disappointed to learn that two of our favorite features, delay start and delicate cycle, require hooking up to our wifi to request those features. We had to replace our prior Bosch dishwasher after 15 years (panel would have to be replaced and that is where the cost of a dishwasher in today's world), so we replaced it with this. There is a new third upper rack for small items (cooking utensils, silverware). The silverware holder is smaller than before, but we haven't filled it up yet. And it is very quiet. The red light visible on the floor that tells you it is working is nice, so you know when it is working and when it is done. And the Home Connect that sends a notification to your phone that the dishes are done, or when rinse aid is needed, I thought was a bit over-the-top, but it is handy so you don't have to keep checking.

The quietest appliance on earth; adequate options for placing dishes; room to add a second silverware holder. We had a Bosch dishwasher in our last home, and each time we've taken the upper tray for flat items completely out to make more room in the top rack. Our preference. Highly recommend Finish Powerball and the Finish Rinse Aid. Dishes come out sparkly clean. Of course, always rinse dishes prior to putting them into the washer.

My new Bosch dishwasher is a replacement for my old Bosch which I had for 23 years! It is super quiet and I love the red light beam on the floor to remind me that it is still operating.
I also love the extra upper silverware tray…very convenient. I am somewhat disappointed that it doesn't completely dry the plastic food storage container lids, so I still have to wipe them dry. Overall it is a great appliance and I can highly recommend it to everyone.

This Bosch is amazing. The three racks accommodate every dirty dish and utensil combination that can be imagined, especially when one changes the configuration and of the structure of the rack and their alignment to handle the "special" cases one might encounter. But that is not the only smart aspect of the Bosch. Choices, one has choices of how long the machine washes, of where really dirty dishes can get extra attention, of how the dishes are dried, and--to top those off--a remote set up and start. Clean up couldn't be any easier or any more efficient!

When my husband and I moved into our house, we were greeted with a leaky GE Profile dishwasher. After having it repaired several times, we bit the bullet and decided to replace it. We thought it was a defective product, not a defective model. Well, the replacement leaked too. That's when we realized we needed to make a change. After doing significant research, we decided to go ahead and get the Bosch 800 series and we couldn't be happier. When the installer was running a test run, I thought the machine was off because of how quiet it was. I genuinely couldn't hear a peep. He then showed me the light feature. When it's on, a red light appears on the floor. After he left, I did multiple test runs myself. I laid on the floor convinced I would find a leak, but there was nothing. My husband and I have used the dishwasher many times since and have completely fallen in love with it. It's quiet, it cleans everything well, and it's versatile; I'm constantly moving the racks to accommodate all sorts of different dishes. I can't recommend this product enough.

This new Bosh dishwasher does not clean dishes as well as my old dishwasher. The racks are hard to load and many of the settings can only be accessed through the app. Which is a problem since this washer will not pair to the Home Connect app.

When I sold my house in 2017 I left my Bosch dishwasher behind. My new house had another brand which never met my expectations. I finally decided earlier this year that I would replace what I had and get a Bosch once again. When I shopped, the design was much difference that what I had before. I wasn't sure I would like the separate silverware tray at the top. I wasn't sure that the other two sections would be deep enough for my dishes and leftover containers. But everything fits. There are just two of us so I normally run it every two days. I love everything about the new design. It cleans my glasses, dishes, and even pots and pans with no residue or water spots. And it is SO quiet. The only thing I would improve is that the silverware tray usually retains some water particularly around the top edge. Other than that, I have nothing but praise and appreciation to offer. I am so pleased that I am a Bosch owner once more!

I selected the subject Bosch dishwasher because I wanted the best for my home use. It certainly is that and for the home with a lot of different types of dishes it has all sorts of capability. I found the iniation of the wash cycle a bit more complicated than I would like. Currently, I use the remote start using my Apple iPhone. There are a lot of options one can select which is great. I live alone, and find it a bit too involved in selecting the numerous options that are available depending on what you are washing. I haven't learned how to use the simplest of option, to just push one button to start the washer.

The dishwashing functions are highly effective, with particularly strong drying at end of cycle. The new touch controls are very nice, and it's So quiet that the light letting you know that it's operating is almost a necessity, not just a convenience.
However, the interior racks are not well-designed. The third rack, for tableware, is a easy to dump things into, but requires handling everything individually to put things away, and it restricts the use of the center rack for wine glasses or tall water glasses. You can remove it, and we have. The basket provided as an alternative is on the small side and must be placed on the right-hand side of the bottom rack. It has square corners, so it cannot be placed at the very front of the rack for easy accessibility when just loading tableware. It does not rest on the base of the rack, but must be hooked over the side of the rack. I have seen other Bosch dishwashers with this configuration where one of the hooks has broken off. The tines on the racks seem designed for specific functions rather than variable uses, and part of the bottom rack on the right is left blank, presumably to allow the tableware basket to be put anywhere along that side.
The door on our previous dishwasher ( a Miele) was very well balanced and would open easily and stay open at any degree. This one really has to be pushed almost all the way open to stay at all, which makes opening it a little to pop a single item either into a rack or the basket unnecessarily tricky. We'll get used to it, but it's not ideal. Rack design should be maximally flexible, and the dish basket should fit on either side all the way to the front.
